We began our juicing journey on March 13, 2014. I resurrected a Bullet Express juicing blender from a box in the garage. I was so sick of all the parts of this with the food processor combined that I nearly gave it away. Silly me.
So here we are in the beginning of March

I found five recipes online at http://juicerecipes.com/health/benefits/juicing-for-weight-loss/
and asked Paul to choose the first one. He picked The Any Time Cocktail. On a scale of 1-10, it was about a 7. It was very easy going down. Paul made a few faces commenting is was not sweet enough. WE deduced we did not have the best oranges for this and decided to go shopping tomorrow.
The recipe:
Ingredients
- Apples - 2 medium (3" dia) 364g
- Celery - 2 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) 80g
- Cucumber - 1 cucumber (8-1/4") 301g
- Kale - 5 leaf (8-12") 175g
- Lemon - 1/2 fruit (2-3/8" dia) 42g
- Oranges (peeled) - 2 fruit (2-5/8" dia) 262g
- Parsley - 1 handful 40

We did not juice today. Paul went to my parent's house for the day today and did not get home until late. I knew he would be hungry and fixed natural smoked pork chops, rice, green beans, and okra and tomatoes for him. He enjoyed his dinner. We knew we needed oranges to make a good blend so we took the night off given late supper.

We went to Whole Foods and bought tons of stuff. It was great fun. We bought anything you could imagine. Our fridge looks like a mini produce market. I cleaned all the old leftovers out of the fridge - we have a new start.
That's more fruits and vegetables every!
It was Paul's turn to make something. I was at his disposal to wash and hand fruit and veges to him while he cut and processed it. He selected strawberries, blackberries, lemon, kale, spinach, apples, oranges, celery, grapes, parsley - all whole minus orange rind, all fresh. Yum! On a scale of 1-10, it was about an 8. It was green - again.

Cleanups are getting easier with this too. The recipes we are using are pretty manageable. The rule of thumb for big fruits is about 2 each.

It's a quiet morning. I thought I'd try something spicy and fixed the Mexican Juju
Ingredients
- Apples - 2 medium (3" dia) 364g
- Cilantro - 1 bunch 92g
- Cucumbers - 2 cucumber (8-1/4") 602g
- Lime (with rind) - 1/2 fruit (2" dia) 33.5g
- Pepper (sweet green) (seeds removed) - 1/2 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) 59.5g
On a scale of 1-10, it was about a 5.5 for taste but it still went down smoothe. My body likes this!!!!
